Dress Code

AMS schools have the responsibility to promote the basic rules of sanitation, safety, neatness, and modesty while on campus. Research has demonstrated that schools with dress codes set a tone for serious study, facilitate school pride, and enhance overall school safety. The uniform policy may be subject to change upon notification of parents throughout the school year. All modifications and changes are up to the discretion of the principal and administrative staff as needs arise.
 
Kindergarten – 8th Grades: Navy Blue or Maroon tops
 
Pants/Shorts/Skirts/Skorts
Navy Blue or Khaki colored uniform pants or shorts, no more than 4
pockets at the waist. Hems or cuffs at the bottom and fit to waist within 2
inches (no baggy pants). Belts (optional): black or brown leather with
brass buckles only. No sweatpants or stretchy materials including leggings. All shorts, skorts, and skirts must be at most 2 inches above the knee. No jeans or jean shorts of ANY kind. All apparel must be free of logos and graphics except for the school logo.
 
Shirts/Sweaters
Navy blue or maroon, 2-3 button polo shirt with collar and no logos (with the exception of the school logo). Shirt must cover the top edge of the pants when arms are raised or remain tucked and must fit the appropriate size of the individual. Undershirts MUST be in solid blue or white. Jackets/sweaters must be full length and zippered or buttoned and MUST be solid navy blue or maroon. All apparel must be free of large or offensive graphics.

Shoes
Tennis shoes/dress shoes are encouraged and recommended. No shoes with wheels. No flip-flops or slippers of any kind.
 
Additional Dress Code Information
All apparel with the school logo may be worn, except t-shirts. In addition to the Uniform Dress Code above, several other restrictions are routinely enforced. Bandannas, either worn or carried, are prohibited. No hats, hoods, or visors are permitted in the buildings. Unnatural hair color or body art, which is distracting, is not permitted. Piercing of the nose, eyebrows, lips, tongue, etc. are prohibited. Piercings are allowed in ears only.

Students who violate the Dress Code policy are subject to disciplinary action.

Polos with no logos are also permitted, and may be purchased at local stores
including Target, Walmart, JCPenny, ROSS or COSTCO.
 
GameOne is a preferred vendor for ordering AMS sports uniforms and school spirit wear. GameOne will
donate back 10% of all purchases made monthly to schools! This will be handled directly through the finance

Collette’s Uniforms is another option for students to purchase branded uniforms.
Las escuelas de AMS tienen la responsabilidad de promover las reglas básicas de saneamiento, seguridad, pulcritud y modestia mientras están en el campus. La investigación ha demostrado que las escuelas con reglas de vestimenta establecen un tono para el estudio serio, facilitan el orgullo escolar y mejoran la seguridad escolar en general. Las reglas de uniformes pueden estar sujeta a cambios tras la notificación de los padres a lo largo del año escolar. Todas las modificaciones y cambios son a discreción del personal principal y administrativo a medida que surjan las necesidades.

Pantalones/Shorts/Faldas/Skorts: Pantalones color azul marino o caqui,
no más de 4 bolsillos en la cintura. Dobladillos o puños en la parte inferior y ajusten a la cintura dentro de las 2 pulgadas (no pantalones
anchos). Cinturones (opcional): cuero negro o guinda con hebillas de
latón solamente. No hay pantalones de chándal ni materiales elásticos, incluidos los leggings. Todos los pantalones cortos, skorts y faldas deben estar como máximo a 2 pulgadas por encima de la rodilla. No hay  mezclilla o pantalones cortos de mezclilla de NINGÚN tipo. Toda la ropa debe estar libre de logotipos y gráficos, con la excepción del logotipo de la escuela.
 
Zapatos: Se recomiendan los zapatos de tenis / zapatos de vestir. No zapatos con ruedas. No chanclas ni zapatillas de ningún tipo.
 
Información adicional sobre el código de vestimenta
Se puede usar toda la ropa con el logotipo de la escuela, excepto las camisetas. Además del Código de Vestimenta Uniforme anterior, varias otras restricciones se aplican rutinariamente. Los pañuelos, ya sea usados o transportados, están prohibidos. No se permiten sombreros, capuchas o viseras en los edificios. El color de cabello no natural o el arte corporal, que distrae, no está permitido. Se prohíbe la perforación de la nariz, cejas, labios, lengua, etc. Los piercings están permitidos solo en las orejas.
 
Los estudiantes que vayan conta las reglas del Código de Vestimenta
están sujetos a medidas disciplinarias.

Las camisas polos sin logotipos también están permitidas, y se pueden comprar en tiendas locales como Target, Walmart, JCPenny, ROSS o COSTCO.
